Mumbai's neglected slum: M-Ward

Though Dharavi is the most talked about slum in Mumbai, it is not the most neglected. Here is a glance into one of the city’s most forgotten and poverty-striken settlements, M-Ward. Out of reach from city services and home to the largest abbatoir in Asia, M-Ward is “an extreme example of skewed development.”

In this article, urb.im tells us how students and faculty of the Tata School of Social Sciences have been working for years with the community and recently launched an initiative to improve living conditions in the slum through community-led development. Read the article here.
